Small investment - big impact

How Fibertex increases uptime of printing presses from 1 day up to 5 days with W&H doctor blade chamber seals.

Fibertex Personal Care AG, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of spunbonded nonwovens for the hygiene industry, has been our customer since 2008 and relies on modern technologies from W&H for its flexographic printing presses. With long jobs and high printing speeds, the company is constantly looking for solutions to optimize production and increase machine uptime.

Despite their often small sizes and costs, consumables such as doctor blades or doctor blade chamber seals have a high impact on production performance and product quality. To ensure that our customers use the optimum products for their production requirements, our printing experts are on hand to provide professional advice. We carry out a comprehensive analysis with regard to the printing machine, print jobs, quality and productivity and identify potential for improvement. We also optimize machine settings and provide tips for professional machine operation.

"In particular, the individual consultation at our plant was helpful and qualified. We will continue to use the high-quality W&H doctor blade chamber seals in the future and can recommend them without reservation."
Andy Spengel - Project Manager, Fibertex Personal Care AG

In order to identify the optimum solution for the individual requirements of our customer Fibertex, various consumables were tested directly on the machine. It was particularly important to Fibertex to use highquality doctor blade chamber seals which guarantee long lifetime and leakage-free production at continuous machine speeds of 550 m/min and higher.

For Fibertex, the W&H doctor blade chamber seal CSC 800 turned out to be the best solution. With its special material properties, it dampens vibrations and at the same time has a long lifetime and high sliding properties. It is particularly suitable for use with solvent-based inks. The final result is impressive: With the new setup, we increased the machine’s uptime from 1 day up to 5 days, while also achieving higher production speeds. In addition, product quality has also been significantly improved by avoiding leakages.

The on-site advice from the W&H expert was very helpful for our customer Fibertex. Optimizations could be tested and implemented directly on the machine and practical tips for better operation and maintenance could be discussed. We were able to achieve our customer’s goal and we look forward to continuing to support Fibertex as a reliable partner in the future.
