Poly Rafia gains speed and quality with NOVOFLEX II equipped with VISION and RUBY
The first NOVOFLEX II printing press in Latin America was installed at Poly Rafia in Mexico. With this new press, the flexible packaging producer is printing images with repeat lengths of up to 1250 mm at speeds of up to 500 m/min. And thanks to the integrated RUBY and the VISION systems, they can also better monitor the print itself and the corresponding production data.
In February 2021, a new NOVOFLEX II went into production at Poly Rafia, a leading flexible packaging company in Atlacomulco, 130 km from Mexico City. The packaging specialist uses the flexographic press to print shrink films for the beverage industry as well as films for pet food bags, which are characterized by their long print length.
Integrated into the new press is VISION, W&H's automation and inspection system, and RUBY, the digital platform for monitoring, analyzing and improving production data. Poly Rafia is the first company in Mexico to have RUBY Go and RUBY Check in operation. Juan Carlos Lopez, Technical Manager at Poly Rafia, sees the NOVOFLEX II as a major step towards improving the efficiency of internal processes. As one example, he cites the higher printing speed for difficult images thanks to the special printing stability offered by the NOVOFLEX II. Product quality can be better monitored thanks to the VISION inspection system with 100% defect detection and the analysis of production data with RUBY.
