Rising demand for sustainable packaging solutions from W&H at Chinaplas 2021
Mid of April the 34th International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries “Chinaplas 2021” was held in Shenzhen, on the border to Hong Kong.
Around 3600 exhibitors and 152.134 visitors gathered on an area of 350.000 square meters. The fair was almost exclusively attended by visitors from China, due to the worldwide covid 19 pandemic.

Machine builder Windmöller & Hölscher presented the latest solutions for extrusion, printing and converting and recorded an incredible number of visitors.
Among its film applications W&H presented its entire machine portfolio. In addition to solutions for recyclable MDO-PE films, PET replacement, CPP and barrier films, customers were intensively discussing about printing and converting machines. Some hot topics of industrial packaging are complete PP woven machines for producing hot-air sealed block bottom valve bag, which will be regulated to be one of the standards of Chinese cement packaging. Another eye drawing technology is the AD Plastic II for water proofed PE valve bag, which is also made by hot air technology and finds wide application for packing powdery products.
W&H also presented Garant bag making machines for paper and bag making machines from Bäumer & Bäumer (B&B) for side-gusseted bags with re-closures and for pouches with inline spout insertion at the exhibition booth.
Jinghui Dai, General Manager (WCN), concludes: “A thoroughly positive market development and there is a clear trend towards more sustainability. We have not felt any sign of a cooling market during this Exhibition.“
