COMAR: Driving Film Production with W&H EASY2 Run
COMAR is a family-owned company with a long-standing commitment to product quality and technological innovation. Its product portfolio includes advanced film solutions, positioning the company as a strong player in demanding market segments.
Since 2019, COMAR has invested in two W&H 7-layer blown film extrusion lines. The combination of continuous research and development, deep process expertise, and advanced technological solutions has enabled COMAR to maintain a consistently high level of production quality in an increasingly competitive environment.
Next Level Production with EASY2 Run
EASY2 Run was first introduced by W&H at K 2025 as a smart co-pilot designed to maximize production capacity. By analyzing process data and machine parameters, the system identifies untapped performance potential and optimizes the extrusion line to its ideal operating point at the push of a button.
EASY2 Run provides a clear overview of critical process data and available power reserves for every key component of the extrusion line. Real-time visualizations in the PROCONTROL system make production potential instantly visible and easy to understand. With a single click, the system automatically increases output while always remaining within predefined, safe operating limits.
Beyond maximizing performance, EASY2 Run continuously stabilizes the extrusion process, ensuring the line remains at its optimal operating point for consistent productivity and product quality.
COMAR’s Vision: Real-Time control where it matters most
When Ing. Marinelli, CEO of COMAR, was introduced to the new technology, he was instantly excited about its capability to analyze and precisely control the area between the die and the calibration basket. As this zone is especially critical for their products´ properties and overall performance. For COMAR this feature values even higher than EASY2 Run´s core function to maximize output.
EASY2 Run as a Retrofit Solution
Together with COMAR’s research and development team, the opportunity to install EASY2 Run as a retrofit solution on existing lines was evaluated.
“Until now, no one has been able to analyze the bubble in real time in such an important area where characteristics and properties of the film are determined,” commented Ing. Marinelli.
Driven by its strong focus on innovation, COMAR decided to take the next step and implement EASY2 Run on one of its lines.
Fast Implementation and Immediate Impact
After a planning and delivery phase of less than 4 months, the EASY2 Run retrofit itself was completed in less than half a day. The installation downtime was used for operator training, combining theoretical and practical sessions. By the following day, the line was already back in full production.
For COMAR, this represents an important step forward in process control, automation, and production efficiency. Gaining real-time visibility in a critical process area supports more stable operations and continuous quality improvement. “The great advantage of EASY 2 Run is a stable production independently of shifts. Our operators feel less pressure with a tool that assists their decisions. Even more unexperienced operators can safely run our products.”, says Ing. Marinelli.

First Results of EASY2 Run
After just four weeks of production, COMAR already observes clear positive effects:
- Up to 30% higher output
- Improved product quality and roll profile
- Positive feedback from operators
- Attractive return on investment
COMAR is already looking forward to expanding EASY2 Run to additional lines and is open to further technological innovations from W&H.
Retrofit Scope and Installation
An EASY2 Run retrofit includes:
- One camera for frost line visualization
- One camera for bubble shape visualization
- W&H developed Software intelligence
- Integration into the machine control system and software update
- Air ring adaptation kit (depending on machine generation)
The retrofit installation is fast and requires only a few hours of line downtime.
After installation, operator training ensures effective use in daily production
